Live, Play, Learn: 5 Tips to Getting the Most Out of Life

Live, Play, Learn: 5 Tips to Getting the Most Out of Life

We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything, than when we are at play. - Charles E. Schaefer

Play is vital in life, from our childhood years to our twilight years. It makes us feel more alive and in our essence, it helps us learn and grow, and it keeps us open and receptive to the journey ahead.

As women, it can feel like we have the world on our shoulders. We are the managers, mediators, caregivers, comforters…the list is endless and it often feels impossible to make time to play, or to really live

But when you make space for the softer, lighter and more playful moments in life, you truly reap the benefits and experience the treasure of wonders that life can offer.

Here are 5 tips to bring more vibrancy and joy into your life:

  1. Stay curious

When something piques your interest, don’t ignore it, especially if it stays with you and continues to nudge you over time. Stay open and curious and follow those little nudges. Let them lead you to new joys and wonders that you never knew existed. Learn as you go. Let yourself be reminded that life and everything here is for you. Your interests and passions can change over time, but they are always leading you to a more expansive and fulfilling life.

  • Create mindful moments
  • The most important relationship you have is with yourself. And when you take time to relax and sit with yourself, you can gather your thoughts and move through your feelings. They are all valid and they play a part in your life journey. So light a Zen candle or diffuse Parfum de Maison and let the gentle notes of white tea and lemongrass embrace you as you soak in those mindful moments — they often bring just the clarity and healing you need in the moment.

    1. Do what brings you joy

It’s jarring how many weeks, months and even years can go by where we don’t do the things that make us happy, or we don’t do them enough! You need more than one day every few months to do something that truly lights you up from the inside. So check in with yourself each day and ask yourself, What would I love right now? If you love to go hiking, or if you would love to take a painting workshop or dance class, or if you love going to concerts but haven’t been to one in ages, make the time to do these things. There are always going to be the things we have to do, but fully dropping into the joyful things matter, too! So get out and play! And you know you can always come play with us and an array of fragrance notes by booking your own fragrance experience to create your own personalized scent

  • Take care of your body
  • Your body is carrying you through life…learn to tune into it so you can give it what it needs to thrive. Move the way your body wants to move — walk, dance, run, jump, or roll around on bikes or skates if that’s what thrills you. Pay attention to how your body feels after you eat and customize your meals so you’re eating the foods that make you feel nourished, energized and well. Rest when you need to; it’s not being lazy, it’s practicing self care. And drink more water. We hear it all the time, but it’s really amazing what water does for your body. As for us, we love to get some of that water in by drinking Glow Tea because it makes us feel nourished and vibrant from the inside out.

  • Give your love to the world
  • The best way to serve yourself, your community and the world is to give your love.  Whether it’s the business you start, the hours you volunteer, the services or products you offer, the people you take care of, the nonprofit you contribute to…giving your love to the world, in whatever way you feel called to, is something that’s both fulfilling to you and also helps the collective. There is a lot going on in the world, but you are here to shine your light and love where your heart and soul points you toward. So share your gifts, share your love…whenever, wherever and however you feel inspired to do so.

If you take just one thing away from this, let it be this gentle reminder:

Life is always going to have its challenges. But the more you can let go and play, live in the moment, learn as you go and care for yourself in the process…the more vibrant you will feel as you live the truest essence of your one precious life.
